Dr P. S. B. R. James Memorial Award

The Dr P. S. B. R. James Memorial Award for the Best Paper, instituted by the Marine Biological Association of India (MBAI) in memory of its Past President, Dr P. S. B. R. James, honours the most outstanding paper presented at MECOS. The award includes a ₹10,000 cash prize and a citation, recognizing excellence in research.

Dr P S B R James Memorial Award for the Best Digital Presentation in ‘Theme 1-Fisheries and ecosystem sustainability was presented to:

1. K.G. Mini, T.V. Sathianandan, Somy Kuriakose, Sindhu K. Augustine, Manu, V. K., Manjeesh R., Sijo Paul and J. Jayasankar of ICAR- Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute, Kochi- 18  for the best digital poster presentation entitled “Marine Fish Catch Survey and Analysis Software: A Transition to Online Data Collection and Processing for Marine Fisheries Management in India” (FES DP-51) in connection with the International Symposium Marine Ecosystems- Challenges and Opportunities (MECOS 3) during 7-10 January 2020 at the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), Kochi-18.

2. Sajikumar, K.K., Geetha Sasikumar, R. Jeyabaskaran and K.S. Mohamed of ICAR- Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute, Kochi- 18  for the best digital poster presentation entitled “Experimental validation of periodicity of increment formation in the Statolith of bigfin reef squid Sepioteuthis lessoniana (Cephalopoda: Lolignidae) from tropical Indian waters” (FES EP-10) in connection with the International Symposium Marine Ecosystems- Challenges and Opportunities (MECOS 3) during 7-10 January 2020 at the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), Kochi-18.
