Landmark Researchers in Marine Biology: The Indian Context

Professor P. N. Ganapati Centennial Commemoration Symposium on "Landmark Researches in Marine Biology: The Indian Context" was held on 9th and 10th October, 2010 at the Conference Hall, Platinum Jubilee Guest House, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. Prof. Dr. P. Rajendra Prasad, Rector, AU presided over the inaugural ceremony and he welcomed the delegates and participants. Prof. Dr. K. Hanumantha Rao, Chairman of the symposium addressed the audience followed by Prof. Dr. K. Srinivasa Rao, Convener of the symposium. Prof. Dr. A. V. Raman, Organising Secretary of the symposium briefed the audience on the importance and the context of this symposium. Then there were addresses by Prof. Dr. Beela Satyanarayana, Vice-Chancellor, AU and Chief Guest of the symposium and Prof. Dr. V. Veeraiah, Principal AUCST. The inaugural ceremony ended with vote of thanks. In the next one and half days, over 50 abstracts were presented. Around 150 participants attended the symposium.
