Abstract

The impact of varying concentrations of lead, one among the major pollutanln in aquatic enviornment on a tetraflagellate Tetraselmis gracilis was studied. Though the pollutant inhibited a l l synthesis and reduced chlorophyll conantration the impact was the maximum on primary organic production. Even at a very low concentration of 0.001 ppm the cut in potential production was estimated to be 97%.
