Algae of Indian estuaries.

Abstract

Types of estuaries occurring along the Indian shores and composition and distribution of macroalgae and phytoplankton of some Indian estuaries are given in this review, together with some observation made on algae of the Godavari delta. Information available is very meagre to classify the Indian estuaries based on the occurrence of algae and on their distribution in relation to salinity gradient.
