Yolk Nucleus during Oogenesis in Neptunus pelagicus (Brachyura Crustacea).

Abstract

The yolk nucleus of Neptunus consists of three concentric zones. It begins to divide in the circumnuclear region witn its contents (proteins, nucleolar extrusions, mitochondria and phospholipids) spread over in the ooplasm. Its indirect role in vitellogenesis has been discussed.
