Addition to the ascidian fauna of India

Abstract

Eight species of simple ascidians of the genus Ascidin are reported of which three species - Ascidin indicn sp.nov., A. kesavanicn sp.nov., and A. tuticoriensis sp.nov., are new to science and the other five spcies - A. chnllengeri Herdman, 1882; A. deceptn Kott, 1985; A. glabra Hartmeyer, 1922; A. latesiplzonicn Hartmeyer, 1922; and A. liberatn Slutter, 1887 are new records to Indian waters
