Kuber Vidyasagar and V. D. Deshmukh
Abstract

Loligo duvaucelii forms 7.8 % of the trawl landings at Bombay. The von Bertalanffy growth parameters are L∞= 323 mm, K = 0.448 (annual) and t0 = 0.0244 years. The total mortality coefficient for the years 1980-'84 is 1.83 and the estimated natural mortality is 1.1. The standing stock and the annual stock in the present fishing ground is 990 tonnes and 2,150 t respectively, The yield is 721 t, which indicates that there is further scope for the exploitation of Loligo duvaucelii by the trawlers.
