Recent results of tuna long lining in the Indian Seas

Abstract

This paper reviews the development and growth of tune longlining in India from early 1960s, the assistance received from FAO through the Japanese expert, training provided by CIFNET to the personnels required for larger and sophisticated fishing vessels for oceanic fishing, etc. and discusses the recent trend of tuna and related fishery in our high seas.
