Abstract

Four species of silicious sponges Echinochalina glabra (Ridley and Dendy) Higginsia mixta (Hentschel), Geodia lindgreni (Lendenfeld) and Pachamphilla dendyi Hentscliel are recorded here from the Indian region. All these four species arc known previously from Australia and adjacent regions.
