The MBAI commemorated Dr Jones’s birth centenary by conducting a colloquium on the topic that was a passion to him, namely, marine mammals. The colloquium was held at Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute, Kochi, India during August 26 & 27, 2011.

The objectives of the colloquium were to:

  2. To assess population status, the remote sensed and acoustic data may be employed in addition to regular sighting surveys
  3. Identify research gaps; and
  4. Suggest advanced research for proper understanding and conservation of this endangered fauna.

The programme schedule is given below and the resolutions of CIMCAR and picture gallery of events are provided as separate links on this page. The MBAI is thankful to all those who participated and contributed to the success of the event.
